This ensemble forms part of the district development known as "Mein Prenzlhain", with a gross floor area of approx. 42,000 m² for residential and business use. After completion at the end of 2019, 3,600 m² will belong to the Bundesvereinigung Lebenshilfe e. V., a self-help organisation for people with learning difficulties, and a further 5,700 m² are allocated to BTZ Berlin.
BTZ Berlin des Berufsförderungswerkes Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. (vocational training centre of the state of Berlin-Brandenburg) will set up training premises to help people with mental health issues re-enter the labour market, and the Bundesvereinigung will be using the premises as its headquarters in the German capital. This community project being overseen by cds Wohnbau Berlin GmbH and Otto Wulff Bauunternehmung GmbH is making an important contribution to the urban planning concept of the development area at the "Alter Schlachthof" and is going to close one of the last remaining gaps in the construction landscape.
